Notes	Remarks: Some mat burn. On laid paper, fragment of a fleur-de-lis watermark. There is an impression of the portrait used in Benedite's plaquette on Legros which appeared in Paris in 1900 with inscription, centre, G. F. Watts and lrc, A. Legros sc. (in CAI's Library, see bibliography). The plate was considerably larger originally but must have been cut down after the 2nd state. (see Soulier 1904 catalog, listing the 3rd of 5 states as 187 x 137 mm. However, the Bliss catalog reproduces a 3rd state print, which is a considerably larger image than the Clark's impression) The drawing was in the collection of Lord Leighton (no. 69 in 1922 exhibition of paintings, drawings, and prints in the collection of Frank E. Bliss). Not listed in Poulet-Malassis because it is after 1877.
